Important update for BBM on Android

BlackBerry Messenger of version 2.4 was released for Android users earlier this week. But some of the BBM users on Android have encountered a bug which displayed “Temporary Service error” message.

BlackBerry today officially posted in its blog that the said bug has been resolved and the latest version of BBM is available for download right now on Google Play with version number 2.4.0.9.

While it is reported that only 1% of all the Android users who use BBM encountered this error, it can be a great disappointment for those who constantly stay in touch with their friends on BBM. Now that is resolved, everything is good to go, again!

BBM Beta for Windows Phone picks up an update (1.0.0.4)

BBM beta app which was made available to select registered users picked up a small update yesterday.  The app went to from version 1.0.0.2 to version 1.0.0.4.

BlackBerry has not provided any changelog for the update at first and it was expected that the update would bring bug fixes and improvements. No new features were expected as the version number change is a small one. Later, BlackBerry has updated with the changelog and mentioned that the update improved many things like:  app launch time, sending email invites, time taking to switch to a newer device from an older one, device global language settings, sending queued invite/acceptances and many more.

BBM Beta is now available for Windows Phone

For those Windows Phone users who are lucky enough to join the beta program, BlackBerry Messenger app (BBM) is now available for download through the  Windows Phone store.

Unfortunately, due to huge response, BlackBerry closed the signups within 24 hours of its announcing. After that, users who register were made to enter the ‘waiting list’.

BBM for iOS gets an update

The BBM for iOS has received an update changing the version number of the BBM on the iOS devices to v2.2.0.19. So it’s time for folks who use BBM on their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to update it on their devices.

Features of BBM are:

• It will always be connected. No necessity for an app to be opened to launch it.
• Users can know when the messages sent are delivered (D) and read (R) – This is one of the best features that lacks in other messenger platforms.
