UK-based WeCam Inc.  announced WeCam, a new socially integrated video chat application. This app is for Android and iOS users and allows the users to video chat with friends from their social networks (Facebook,Twitter and Google+).

The WeCam app can be downloaded for free or can be purchased.The free version is ad-supported while the app purchase of $0.99 comes with no ads. It is compatible on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices  with iOS 6.1 higher and on Android devices with an Android 4.0 or higher.

WeCam gives its users, the contacts from their Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ accounts and combines them into one application. Latest Virus in Android smartphones… “Dendroid” ..

 

An alert is issued by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team(CERT-In) to all the Android smartphone users about the dangerous “Dendroid” virus. This virus is of the trojan family, which when infected to the Android smartphone, can “completely compromise” it and allows the attacker to control the Android smartphone remotely.

A malicious toolkit called Dendroid is being used to create this trojanised application and the toolkit is used to control this malware as well. This trojanised malware infects the Android OS-based smartphones.This malware is created by modifying the permissions that are required by any clean(virus free) Android Package File(APK) with Dendroid RAT(Remote Access Trojan) functionality which as a result, allows detailed and easy management of the attacked devices.

PC restart automatically again and again…‏

 

Sometimes,our computer restarts again and again automatically.This Problem is discussed in this post…
When this problem arises, first you need to check some parameters..

i)Make sure your RAM is OK
ii)Sometimes,excessive production of heat in the CPU of the computer also leads to this problem.
iii)See that all power cables are connected properly without any loose connections.Sufficiency of power supply also needs to be checked in case of some new hardware that you installed. for ex: a new graphics card.It could be that the power supply is faulty. But this a rare possibility.

If problem is with (i),try to re-seat the RAM by taking it out and putting it back. If this doesn’t help you might have to change your RAM.
If you notice problem with (ii), then immediately shutdown and unplug your computer, clean out the fans, and see that all fans are working when you turn on your computer the next time.
Other possibility is, if your computer is very old, then problem might as well be with the CMOS battery so better to change it and check once again.

Corrupt or problematic Windows files should usually give a Blue Screen. But by default, Windows is set to automatic restart on such an error and hence we do not have a chance to notice it. Why low sound from microphone of mobile phone?

When a call is sent or received from mobile phone, if the sound is very low to the other side person, check the micro phone (mic)  hole area in the mobile phone which may be filled fully with dust. If so, clean that hole area with needle type object. Be careful that the needle should not be inserted deeply inside that mic hole which will damage the microphone permanently.

Fix switch off problem in Android phones

Usually in Android mobile phones,when you hold the power button it should display a menu with a set of options which allows you to power off your phone,turn it into airplane mode or  restart the phone.But sometimes, this function may stop working.

What can be done when Speaker, Microphone both not working in mobile phone...

( Head phone symbol appears on display without connecting head phones)

This symptom in cell phones occurs with bad head phone connector or its related circuit. Usually Speaker and micro phone circuit will have separate circuit path in any cell phone. These two circuits will have relation in head phone circuit only.

The technical reason is, when head phones pin is inserted into cell phone head phone socket, You will observe head phone symbol or car symbol  (in some cell phones) on the display area of cell phone, also you can observe the internal speaker and internal mic will be off, same time external speakers (in the head phones) and external mic ( in the head phones wire) are activated.

The mobile phone is working OK i.e it is switching on and running OK in standby mode. Standby mode is nothing but , the phone is on and ready to receive & send calls.
If Mobile phone is switching off when entered into call mode (A call sending or receiving mode is called call mode), suspect the battery first, because the battery may not be having  sufficient current when the phone enters  into call mode. While in call mode,the circuit board draws more current than in sleep mode. Typically in sleep mode,the mobile phone current drawing is @ 10mah (Milli ampere  hour) , but when the phone enters into call mode the phone draws @300mah from the battery in most of the  mobile phones.

How to check battery status of cell phone…

All the batteries used in cell phones are rechargeable. Every battery will have a life (certain cycles) which will be mentioned by the manufacturer. A cycle implies charge and discharge of the battery once.
1)      If the battery indicator on the cell phone display shows full, yet “battery low” indication appears on the cell phone display after 1 or 2 calls, suspect battery, as this occurs because of low current in the battery due to consumption of most cycles.
2)      If the problem is same with new battery, suspect the circuit board of the cell phone which draws more current from battery than it actually has to. This could be due to water damaged handset, or some area of the circuit board that is short circuited. In such case,

Why mobile phone gives shock while charging?

Shock from the mobile phone when charger is plugged occurs, when the primary side voltage of the charger circuit (which is generally high voltage like 230V ac) with heavy current passes to secondary side circuit (the very low voltage and current side). Usually  primary circuit is isolated from secondary circuit. If  poor quality components are used inside the circuit board, this kind of hazard happens.

Windows XP support ending soon..

Microsoft recently announced that it ends its support for Windows XP soon (on April 8th,2014).

What does end of Windows XP support mean?
Ending of support indicates that technical assistance for Windows XP will no longer be available, which also includes the end of automatic updates that help protect our PC(running on Windows XP). On and after 8thApril,2014,Microsoft will stop providing the download of Microsoft Security Essentials.If you already have a PC running with Windows XP which has Microsoft Security Essentials installed on it, you would be able to use it for a limited time but you receive no updates.

So this explains to us that even after the end of windows XP support from Microsoft, you would still be able to run your PC installed with Windows XP, but problem of having many new malwares/viruses entering into the Operating System(OS) cannot be resolved.Hence, further protection of your PC becomes difficult if it still continues to run with Windows XP.
