BlackBerry has been working on its own voice enabled assistant, named ‘BlackBerry Assistant’,  to compete with Apple’s Siri and Microsoft’s Cortana. The company revealed this in a blog post on Wednesday describing how BlackBerry Assistant can keep a BlackBerry user organized and productive.
“It is voice activated when I need it to be, and helps manage simple tasks on  my device from searching my email and calendar, finding out what’s trending on twitter, to sending trivia night invitations”, writes Donny Halliwell in the official blog of BlackBerry. The one uses it, the more adaptive the BlackBerry Assistant becomes, says the blog post. While the company did not mention the BlackBerry Assistant’s complete functions, it can be inferred from the blog post that the BlackBerry Assistant is capable of controlling app and caller notifications, give voice navigation and device settings.
