How to delete duplicate songs from iTunes

If the songs stored in iTunes library are more and if the music is often made to sync from the computer or mac to the iTunes and then into iPad, iPod or the iPhone, then there are chances of duplicate entries of songs into the iTunes music library. It can be a tough task to sort out the duplicate songs if searched through the entire iTunes library one-by-one.
Instead, a more easy way to find out and delete these duplicate songs from the music of iTunes library is available in the iTunes options itself. Actually, two such options are available for user’s comfort. These two ways are explained in this post.
1) To find and delete all duplicate songs from the iTunes library
2) To find and delete exact duplicate songs from the iTunes library

To find and delete all duplicate songs from the iTunes library:

1. Launch/Run iTunes application in the Windows or Mac
2. In the top menu bar that appears in the iTunes window, click “View”.
itunes menu bar
3. A drop down list of options appear on the screen and in those options, select “Show Duplicate Items”.
4. Then, all the duplicate song tracks will be displayed in the iTunes window.
5. To delete the required duplicate songs,
    • For Windows users, press and hold Control key (Ctrl) and with the help of mouse select the songs to be deleted.
After the duplicate songs to be deleted are selected, leave the Ctrl key and drag all the songs to trash.
    • For Mac users, press and hold Command, and with the help of mouse select the songs to be deleted.
After the duplicate songs to be deleted are selected, leave the Ctrl key and drag all the songs to trash.
remove duplicate songs from itunes
The disadvantage of this option is that, iTunes will display some songs as duplicates even if they are the remix or some other version of the original song. So, there is a risk of removing a song that is displayed by iTunes as duplicate, but in reality it is an entirely different version from the original song.
This is where the second method of removing exact duplicates come to the rescue of the users.

To find and delete exact duplicate songs from the iTunes library:

1. Launch/Run iTunes application in the Windows or Mac
2.  Then do one of the following:

Transfer contacts to Windows Phone

When a mobile phone user wants to shift  from any old phone to a new phone, the major priority is given to the transfer of contacts from the old phone to the new phone. In this post, it is discussed about how to transfer contacts to a Windows phone.
windows phone
If the old phone uses a SIM card which is the same type of Windows mobile, to store the contacts, then it can be inserted into the windows phone directly to import the contacts. If the old phone and the windows phone both require the same microSIM card, then there arises no problem in inserting the SIM. But if the phones differ in the sizes of SIM used, then the user have to contact a cell phone technician, to cut the big sized SIM card to micro SIM size, which will be done with the help of SIM cutter tool. This SIM resizing process has to be done in iPhone, Smart phones etc.. if the old SIM and new SIM are not in the same size. Although this SIM cutter tool is not costlier, it will not be in use regularly, Better get this work done by a cell phone technician.
When contacts are imported into the Windows phone from a SIM card, they are automatically updated to the user’s Microsoft account on the phone and they will not be deleted from the SIM card as well. If the Windows Phone user has not set up any Microsoft account yet, then the contacts will be saved to the phone’s memory. Later, when the user sets up a Microsoft account, then the contacts that are already saved in the phone memory will be automatically imported to the Microsoft account.
To import contacts from a SIM card:
