How to Fix android reboot problem

nexus
Android phones sometimes restart by themselves. If this happens once in a month or so, then it can be treated as a completely normal case. But if this repeats and becomes a frequent action like once or twice a day, then it must be considered as a serious problem. This post will try to put out the reasons behind this rebooting problem of Android devices and also some solutions that may help you out if such a situation arises.
Before going deep into knowing what can be the causes of this rebooting problem in Android devices, we will first look into what rebooting of Android device actually does. The rebooting of Android device may be classified as two types:
- The phone restarts completely. That is, it turns off, turns back on and the usual welcome tone is heard and the phone manufacturer’s logo will appear. This is called a full or complete restart. This usually takes a few minutes of time as all the apps installed in the Android device are loaded again.
- The phone does not turn off. Rather a white screen is shown for a few minutes and then everything will be back to normal. This reboot indicates that only the Android OS is being restarted and not the complete device. This is usually caused by an app.

Facebook to make Messenger app mandatory in smartphones

facebook messenger
Facebook is all set to make its Messenger app mandatory for its iPhone and Android users in the coming few days. What this means is that, every user of iPhone or Android smartphone should compulsorily download the standalone Facebook Messenger app in order to continue messaging with their Facebook friends.
Facebook first implemented this plan in Europe earlier this year, and after seeing the positive effect this change brought, the firm has now decided to expand the same plan to everyone.
With the implementation of this mandatory Messenger download plan,  users will no longer have access to messaging from the main Facebook app in their smartphones and they will have to depend on the Messenger app to chat with their Facebook friends.
Facebook did not notify this issue in a blog post. It rather is notifying its users directly. The firm contacted Josh Constine of TechCrunch with the following official statement.
“In the next few days, we’re continuing to notify more people that if they want to send and receive Facebook messages, they’ll need to download the Messenger app. As we’ve said, our goal is to focus development efforts on making Messenger the best mobile messaging experience possible and avoid the confusion of having separate Facebook mobile Messaging experiences. Messenger is used by more than 200 million people every month, and we’ll keep working to make it even more engaging way to connect with people.”
Considering the huge number of messaging apps available for smartphones these days, it is yet to be seen how Facebook thinks its Messenger, implemented this way, could succeed.
However, users of mobile web, iPad, feature phones, desktop and Windows Phone users can be able to access the messaging feature from the main app and are not prone to this forced usage of Messenger. For now.
But the Android and iPhone users are soon expected to be forced into this. They are said to receive optional notices on their phones and Facebook will send an email to the people about this.

New Google Maps for Android and iOS, makes exploring places easy

Google Maps Explore
Starting this week, Google is giving a new Explore option to Google Maps on Android and iOS devices. Whenever users want to discover places around their area, all they need to do is tap on the Explore option to the bottom right corner of the map on the phone’s screen. Users can explore areas other than around them on the map too, so that it makes easier to plan for a vacation or a holiday.
Explore displays places that are nearby to the user; user can set what “nearby” means to him. He can set a place that takes 5 min walk or a 15 min walk as “nearby” and according to the Settings, Explore displays the places around him and it is also very smart to suggest places based on the time of the day and the climate at a given time.
So you don’t have to worry about wandering over to a breakfast spot for dinner or arriving at a park just in time for a thunderstorm. You’ll get the best results when you’re signed in with location reporting and history turned on“, says Taj Campbell in a Google Maps blog post.

How to find IMEI number on Android phone

IMEI or the ‘International Mobile Equipment Identity’ is a unique number to identify mobile phones. The IMEI number is used by a GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) network to identify valid devices and can be used for stopping a stolen phone from accessing that network. Suppose if a mobile phone is stolen, the mobile phone owner can call his network provider and ask them to block or ‘blacklist’ the phone using its IMEI number. This makes the phone useless when tried to use on that network or any other networks too. So this tells us that knowing your mobile phone’s IMEI number can be helpful any time. This post will show..

How to find the IMEI number on an Android phone:

1. Through the dial pad:
On the dial pad of your Android phone, enter the numbers *#06#. The IMEI number of that Android phone will automatically show up on the screen.
