Google to give Nexus devices customized cases through ‘Workshop’

Google is reportedly to launch a new tool called “Google Workshop”. Wondering what that is? Well, Google Workshop helps users get a customized cases for their devices, like the ones shown above, and that service is currently being confined only to Nexus 5 devices.
The news came out from Android Police who reported that users of devices such as Nexus 5 smartphones and Nexus 7 tablets are soon going to get the facility of customizing the back covers and cases  in a variety of colors and of various options of their own devices. Currently there are two options- MapMe and Moments – for the users to choose what their back covers or cases would be.

Microsoft launches the affordable Lumia 530

Microsoft launched new Lumia 530 into the Lumia line of smartphones. It is the most affordable Lumia Windows Phone yet, from Microsoft. Lumia 530 is the new Windows Phone device launched by Microsoft today. It comes with running on Windows Phone 8.1, out of the box.

Xiaomi launches Mi 3 in India

Xiaomi, the Chinese manufacturer,  has launched the Mi 3 smartphone today, at an event in New Delhi. Xiaomi Mi 3 will be first smartphone to be launched by the company in India.
The Mi 3 features a 5-inch Ffull HD display, 13 MP Sony Camera Sensor with BSI, 2 MP front camera, Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0. The devices comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 8274AB 2.3 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM and 3050 mAh battery.

The Xperia T3 with the stylish stainless steel frame and a 5.3 inch display, claims to be the world’s slimmest phone of this screen size yet.The stainless steel frame of the Sony Xperia T3 not only adds style to the smartphone but also works as an antenna. The back cover is designed with matte material so as to give the phone a slim and light look.

Sony announces wireless charging for Xperia Z2

Sony is launching two products, the Wireless Charging Cover WCR 12 and the Wireless Charging plate WCH 10 that allows charging of the Sony Xperia Z2 smartphone without the help of any wires. These two Wireless charging products are designed by Sony using the latest inductive ‘Qi’ technology. By using this technology, the power transfer takes place from a transmission pad to a compatible receiver (‘electromagnetic induction’ principle).

It is a flip style cover for the Sony Xperia Z2 and this protective flip cover enables the wireless charging of the phone. This WCR12 cover has an additional advantage of changing itself into a stand to make it possible to place the phone at any desired angle on a table or a desk, for a convenient view.

The Sony Xperia Z2 or any Qi technology compatible device can be charged wireless by placing it on the charging pad of this WCH 10 which produces 5W of power.
The availability of these accessories from Sony is not yet announced.

Latest Virus in Android smartphones… “Dendroid” ..

An alert is issued by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team(CERT-In) to all the Android smartphone users about the dangerous “Dendroid” virus. This virus is of the trojan family, which when infected to the Android smartphone, can “completely compromise” it and allows the attacker to control the Android smartphone remotely.

A malicious toolkit called Dendroid is being used to create this trojanised application and the toolkit is used to control this malware as well. This trojanised malware infects the Android OS-based smartphones.This malware is created by modifying the permissions that are required by any clean(virus free) Android Package File(APK) with Dendroid RAT(Remote Access Trojan) functionality which as a result, allows detailed and easy management of the attacked devices.

Once this virus is activated, it could change the command and can control the server of  the infected Android phone.It also performs many dangerous activities on the infected device.The results of this “attack toolkit” are:
