Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update rolling out for Sony Xperia T2 Ultra, adds moving apps to SD card feature

Sony has posted in its blog that it has started releasing the Android Kitkat 4.4.2 update to its Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia T2 Ultra dual android  smartphones. This update will change the build number of the Xperia T2 Ultra users to 19. 1.A.0.373 while the build number of the Xperia T2 Ultra dual changes to 19.1.C.0.116.
One surprising change that this update brings is that Sony is now providing users with the facility to move apps to SD cards. This option can be seen in Settings. Go to Settings -> Apps and click on any app. ‘Move to SD‘ card option will be displayed. Another new column ‘On SD card‘ has been added to give a glance of all the apps that are on the SD card at a given time.

Android 4.4.3 update for Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition

It was just yesterday that we have seen that the Android 4.4.3 update is being rolled out to the Nexus devices over-the-air (OTA). Now, it’s time for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition(GPE) users also to check for updates on their phone and update it to Android 4.4.3 via OTA update.

It is still not clearly known which Google Play Editions (GPE) are going to receive the update as there are many manufacturers like HTC, Motorola, Samsung and Sony who released the GPE editions.
Meanwhile, there has been an announcement from Motorola that the Android 4.4.3 update will be released OTA to the Moto X, Moto E and Moto G smartphones.

Sony Mobile announced it’s new smartphone, the Sony Xperia T3 today morning. The Xperia T3 with the stylish stainless steel frame and a 5.3 inch display, claims to be the world’s slimmest phone of this screen size yet.The stainless steel frame of the Sony Xperia T3 not only adds style to the smartphone but also works as an antenna. The back cover is designed with matte material so as to give the phone a slim and light look.

Sony announces wireless charging for Xperia Z2

Sony is launching two products, the Wireless Charging Cover WCR 12 and the Wireless Charging plate WCH 10 that allows charging of the Sony Xperia Z2 smartphone without the help of any wires. These two Wireless charging products are designed by Sony using the latest inductive ‘Qi’ technology. By using this technology, the power transfer takes place from a transmission pad to a compatible receiver (‘electromagnetic induction’ principle).

It is a flip style cover for the Sony Xperia Z2 and this protective flip cover enables the wireless charging of the phone. This WCR12 cover has an additional advantage of changing itself into a stand to make it possible to place the phone at any desired angle on a table or a desk, for a convenient view.

Wireless Charging plate (WCH 10):

The Sony Xperia Z2 or any Qi technology compatible device can be charged wireless by placing it on the charging pad of this WCH 10 which produces 5W of power.
The availability of these accessories from Sony is not yet announced.

Update for Sony Xperia Z2 and Z2 tablet

Sony is currently releasing the first update to its latest Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 tablet. This update changes the firmware version to 17.1.1.A.0.402. This is the first firmware update ever since Sony launched Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 tablet. So guesses are that, the changes this update brings will be big.

Reviews are that this update increased the touch sensitivity of both the devices. the performance of the device is also said to be improved There also is a noticeable change in the way themes are applied on the devices.
The update is now being available in selected regions and is live on Xperia Z2 for D6502 HSPA+ (Evolved High Speed Packet Access) and D 6503 LTE(Long Term Evolution) variants. For Xperia tablet Z2, it is available on the LTE  (SGP521) and Wi-Fi (SGP511 or SGP 512) editions .

SONY Android 4.4 update for Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1 Compact

SONY has rolled out an update for its smartphones- Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 and Xperia Compact which includes the new Google’s Android 4.4 version. This update results in some neat features and adds a few performance tweaks says SONY. The additional features that the company will make available to its users are listed below:

  • Android 4.4 Kitkat:
    Sony provides an option to upgrade to the Google’s new Android 4.4 Kitkat for these Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Compact and Xperia Z1 devices.
  • A tweaked status bar and Quick Settings 
    This new status bar can be now customized and has the flexibility of letting the user choose which notifications are to be displayed. So by this, the user can cut off all the clutter and have only those notifications which are really needed.
  • Sleek launch animation and live wallpaper for Sony PlayStation 4:
    Across the lock and home screens, Sony added the new sleek launch animation and live wallpaper for its PlayStation 4.
